About Food and Nutrition
Little Explorers Forest School recognise the importance of children building healthy lifestyle and believe that nutrition is key in your child’s development.
Our meals are prepared and cooked fresh each day by a qualified and experience cook. We use a range of organic and local sourced produce providing well balanced and healthy meals throughout the nursery extending children experience of different foods, tastes and textures. Meals times are always a happy, unhurried and social occasion where staff and children eat together, and time is taken for conversation and group discussion.
Children are supported and encourage to participate in the planning and preparation of meals and snacks , this being integral to children learning about healthy eating and where food comes from . Daily make and bake sessions are offered to children where they often make dishes such as fruit kebabs, pizza , salads and savoury snacks .
